A: Jersey Grown is New Jersey's new brand of locally grown plants, trees, shrubs, and flowers.

Q: What are the standards that must be met to be certified as Jersey Grown?
A: A Jersey Grown label certifies the item is grown in New Jersey so it is accustomed to the state's soil and growing conditions, checked for quality, and disease and pest-free.

Q: How do I find a garden center or nursery that carries Jersey Grown products?
A: Go to http://www.state.nj.us/cgi-bin/agriculture/jerseyfresh/gcnsearchform.pl to search for a garden center or nursery in your area. When there, look for the Jersey Grown sign. Ask the garden center or nursery for Jersey Grown products.

Q: How do I know the item is Jersey Grown?
A: The plant will be tagged with the Jersey Grown label, or a sign among the plants will indicate that they are Jersey Grown.

Q: How do I get my soil tested when readying it for planting?
A: Rutgers Cooperative Extension offers soil testing kits. Go to www.rce.rutgers.edu/soiltestinglab/default.asp to find the local office in your county or call (732) 932-9295 for more information.
