Begun
two years ago, the Jersey Grown brand certifies trees,
shrubs, plants and flowers are grown in New Jersey,
accustomed to the state’s growing conditions,
are checked for quality and are disease and pest-free.
To
introduce municipalities to Jersey Grown materials,
the Department is sponsoring the New Jersey Grown Community
Award program. Jersey Grown plants are a wonderful way
to beautify a town and the award program will recognize
those towns that use Jersey Grown products creatively.
The
New Jersey Grown Community Award program is open to
all municipalities in the Garden State and will recognize
exemplary plant design and maintenance projects while
highlighting Jersey Grown plant material. Representatives
of the municipality must be involved with the installation
and maintenance of the project and meet all other criteria
and conditions of the program.
For details of the program, go to the New
